Mabbett & Associates (Mabbett®) is pleased to announce that we’ve been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Construction and Facilities Management (OCFM) to perform a feasibility study to evaluate potential options for redevelopment of a former landfill at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
In total, Mabbett has over 40 years of experience providing environmental health & safety, site assessment, remediation, and engineering services for the VA nationally.
Mabbett will perform geotechnical and environmental investigations of the facility’s former landfill to determine whether the area is suitable for redevelopment as a large warehouse, recreation space, or satellite parking area. The feasibility study will evaluate potential environmental risks associated with construction within the landfill area and identify potential geotechnical challenges associated with constructing foundations and/or roadways.
Mabbett is pleased to build on our prior experience providing on-site Green Environmental Management System (GEMS) support and other EHS and site assessment work at the Martinsburg.
