Mabbett is Founded
Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®) was founded by Arthur N. Mabbett, PE, QEP, RS, CSP, CHCM, DAAS, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer (COO), incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on May 19, 1980, and is a privately held Chapter S Corporation, as a professional environmental, health and safety (EHS) and engineering design services firm serving industry, commercial enterprise, and federal, state, and local agencies throughout the United States (US).
Arthur Mabbett acquires 100% of stock
In 1992, Arthur acquired 100% of the stock of the firm from Robert S. Capaccio (formerly Mabbett, Capaccio & Associates, Inc.).
SDVOSB Verified
Mabbett, for over 25 years, was predominantly serving private sector clients, including the nation’s largest manufacturers, as well as biotechnology, industrial and high technology companies, and institutions. In an effort to grow and expand the firm, in 2005, Mabbett was verified as a US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), a small business category established by Presidential Executive Order and Public Law (PL 106-50), due to Arthur’s 19 years of meritorious service as a Major, Environmental Sciences Officer in the U.S. Army - both on active duty and in the Army Reserves. With the creation of the US Small Business Administration (SBA) Governmentwide small business certification program in 2023, Mabbett maintains an active SDVOSB certification.
Number one provider of EHS professional services
As the leading federal agency in support of veteran owned businesses, Mabbett was successful in establishing an expanded service relationship with the VA in 2006. We are currently the number one provider of EHS professional services (NAICS Code 541620) to the VA nationally.
Acquisition of EHS Services Division of MasiMax Resources, Inc. in Reston, Virginia
In addition to Mabbett’s SDVOSB certification in 2007, the firm acquired the EHS Services Division of MasiMax Resources, Inc. in Reston, Virginia (office now located in Alexandria, Virginia) and established a Washington, D.C. presence to support our strategic vision to expand into the federal market. Mabbett consistently focused its strategic business development efforts and overall business plan on sustainable growth, established strong working relationships, and exceptional past performance. These targeted efforts reduced the cost of sales, increase the proposal capture rate, and total project income.
A leader in providing EHS consulting and engineering design services to multiple federal agencies
In the last 16 years, Mabbett has emerged as a leader in providing EHS consulting and engineering design services to multiple federal agencies – including the award of multi-million-dollar prime contracts with the VA, US Army Corps of Engineers, US Environmental Protection Agency, US General Services Administration, US Department of Homeland Security, US Missile Defense Agency, and the US Department of Agriculture.
