(Mabbett®) Stoneham, MA, has ended his active thirty plus year history of entrepreneurship in the United Kingdom by selling his controlling stock interest in Mabbett & Associates Ltd (Mabbett Ltd), Glasgow, U.K. as of February 24, 2021. Founded by Arthur Mabbett in 1996, Mabbett Ltd has become an award-winning and internationally recognized consulting and engineering firm, one of the largest privately held consulting and engineering firms in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North of England. The company will continue to trade under the Mabbett & Associates Ltd brand.
Mr. Mabbett commented, “The sale and transfer of all my stock in Mabbett Ltd to GEG Capital Midco Ltd
(now GEG Capital Ltd) and GEG Capital Ltd (now GEG Capital Investments Ltd) will help enable the firm to continue its growth and expansion throughout the United Kingdom. The GEG companies bring significant depth and assets to Mabbett Ltd, and this will help Mabbett Ltd in its acquisition plans and further geographic expansion. For over thirty years, I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to establish and grow successful companies in Scotland and other regions of the United Kingdom. I’ve faced many challenges and gained most valuable personal experiences. I’ve also made many friends in the process. I wish to thank my former colleagues at Mabbett Ltd, especially Derek J. McNab, Managing Director and Andrew Lee, Director for their leadership, persistence, client service focus, and professionalism which allowed Mabbett Ltd to become a most successful Scottish-U.K. company. All of the firm’s members deserve my sincere thanks for a job well done. Additionally, I thank the clients of the firm who gave Mabbett Ltd the chance to serve their environmental, health and safety, and engineering needs on a repeat basis. I will miss my regular trips to the U.K. as one of British Airways most frequent travelers over the past 30 years. I now plan to devote even more time and resources into the growth of Mabbett & Associates, Inc., a US based firm.”
